As part of a court order, Texas submitted a plan Thursday to move about 1,000 medically sensitive inmates from the Pack Unit southeast of College Station, which is not air conditioned, to other state jails and prisons that do have air conditioning.

    Baylor Scott & White patients who recently had surgery at the hospital in Temple may have been exposed to a bacterial infection, according to a recent alert sent by the medical care provider. In a letter mailed to patients who recently had heart surgery, the hospital said a piece of equipment used to heat or cool blood during surgery is linked to a rare infection.

The pursuit began when a Department of Public Safety trooper tried to stop the man's black 2014 Kia 4-door sedan, which was going north on State Highway 6 in Robertson County around 12 a.m. "Numerous attempts to deploy tire deflation systems by Marlin PD, Riesel PD, McLennan County SO and DPS were finally successful near Loop 340 down from McLennan Co.
