Lorie Sheinwald scored in 2 hours 49 minutes and 15 seconds, good for 38th place overall. She also deserves a special "purple heart" award.

    Daniel Valderrama and Kate Cifarelli of Oyster Bay and Katherine Frey of Bayville successfully completed the 13th annual Long Island Greenbelt Trail 25 Kilometer Run on Saturday, May 9. Frey crossed the finish line in two hours, 23 minutes to take 14th place overall. She was the second female finisher overall.

"Dr. Levcheck told us my brother was one of a few students who were diagnosed with a rare pediatric heart condition that day," said Bird.
