    The summer's first sailing of the Tustumena ferry will be delayed until late August after more wasted steel was found in the engine room of the aging ship, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities announced Monday. The 53-year-old ferry was originally scheduled to make 10 trips up and down the Aleutian chain starting in May, sailing from Homer to Akutan and back.

    A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N177DN performing flight DL-68 from Tokyo Narita to Portland,OR with 210 passengers and 11 crew, was enroute at FL350 over the Pacific Ocean about 550nm southwest of Cold Bay,AK when the crew needed to shut an engine down. The aircraft drifted down to FL240 and turned northeast to divert to Cold Bay, where the aircraft landed safely about 90 minutes later.
