    Idaho seems to be on hiatus from a months-long distinction for having among the highest gas prices in the country, according to AAA Idaho. The 47-cent gap for a gallon of gas that separated the Idaho and U.S. average prices two months ago has nearly evaporated, giving Gem State motorists some terrific relief at the pump, AAA says.

    A Hauser woman who was found guilty in connection to the death of a hunter's falcon has been sentenced to community service. The Coeur d'Alene Press reported that on Monday Kootenai County District Court Judge James Stow ordered 60-year-old Patti MacDonald to complete 20 hours of community service before the end of the year and pay $500 in court fees.

    The state's next auction for lots on Priest Lake in northern Idaho will feature sites that are unleased, which state officials hope will result in more competitive bidding. The Spokesman-Review reported Saturday's auction at the Coeur d'Alene Resort will feature nine unleased lakefront lots, seven of which have cabins.

    A Kootenai County District Court judge has ruled that a woman who was found guilty in connection to the death of a hunter's falcon will not have her misdemeanor conviction dismissed, nor will she have to pay restitution. The Coeur d'Alene Press reported that Judge James Stow ruled Monday that Patti MacDonald's conviction for pursuing a protected bird would remain.

    Idaho public schools have received nearly $16 million after the state auctioned off cabins at Priest Lake. The Spokesman-Review reported 35 lakefront cabin sites were purchased by the cabin owners for an average of $447,000 each at the Friday auction at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.
