    Students created reproduction shutters as a school project for the Bull's Head Inn, Cobleskill's oldest building , after owners restoring the restaurant found the last remaining pair of original shutters buried in an upstairs wall. Golding Middle School shop teacher Tony Esposito contacted Cobleskill-Richmondville High School shop teacher Nick Carson, and they led teams of students to take part, restaurant owner Chris Guldner said.

    An officer was injured after a woman allegedly stole a State Police car Sunday afternoon, according to the Schoharie County Sheriff. Sheriff Tony Desmond said the woman stole the car at about 1 p.m. in the village of Cobleskill, and the car was later found abandoned on Wetsel Hollow Road in the Town of Schoharie.

Called Tech Valley Taste Makers, the series has four classes on the slate so far, but organizer Rhonda Rosenheck, one of the volunteers who works in TVCoG's kitchen, plans for it to run monthly for two years.

    The second Grill Games semifinal, held Friday night at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, saw a past champion return with a winning dish even though it was the first time she'd cooked lamb and a culinary student show her chops with an accomplished, summery take on chicken teriyaki. The winners were Jill Kavanagh of Troy, who won Grill Games two summers ago , with rack of lamb; and Linda Blesser of Richmondville, a culinary student at SUNY-Cobleskill, who complemented her teriyaki with broccoli rice pilaf and a kebab of seasonal vegetables.
