    The official rain gauge at Fresno Yosemite International Airport measured a hundredth of an inch late Wednesday night, the National Weather Service reported - a record for the city on July 1. It capped a wild weather day in the central San Joaquin Valley, one filled with reports of rain in many places - often big, beefy drops - and a hot night filled with big booms of thunder and wild displays of lightning. Meteorologist Jeffrey Barlow of the weather service in Hanford said the last time rain was recorded in Fresno was 1916.
