According to testing coordinator Nancy Zirkle, the school division has been notified that instead of having two focus schools as reported in September, Halifax has three, with Clays Mill Elementary School added to the list.

Halifax County school trustees on a split 6-2 vote Monday night approved a 32 percent increase in travel reimbursement rates for school employees after conferring with the county administration about Halifax County Sheriff's Investigator J. M. Burton said Friday that no cause has been established for the late Wednesday house fire that claimed the life of 59 year old Roy Hampton Jones.
