The Fresno Bee reports that 13 horses at Black Fence Farm boarding stables in Clovis died or had to be put down and 36 horses suffered permanent neurological damage in September after eating feed that was contaminated with monensin.

The Fresno Bee reports that Clovis City Council members voted to increase awareness of conservation programs using the money from fines and reduce landscape watering to one day per week beginning Nov. 1. City officials say they are suspending the fines because they are less likely to be effective now that residents are reducing water use as temperatures drop.
