    California Highway Patrol said the man, who was not named pending notification of his family, was driving southbound on DeWolf Avenue north of Shepherd Avenue around 2:20 a.m. at an unknown speed when he lost control of his 1989 Honda on a curve and drove through a barbed wire fence. The man was thrown from his vehicle onto Shepherd Avenue and was pronounced dead at the scene.
