    At the Dec. 21 New Franklin Council meeting, Law Director Tom Musarra said an agreement with the Summit County Sheriff's Office approved by Clinton Village Council several weeks ago "fell apart" and Clinton Village Council approved a contract for policing services with New Franklin Dec. 20. That contract is a four-year agreement to continue to provide policing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week for $126,887 annually. The cost was up from $78,000 annually, and New Franklin Mayor Al Bollas stated it reflected the true cost of providing police service to Clinton.

    Mayor Al Bollas announced at the Nov. 2 New Franklin Council meeting the city is expected to lose its policing service contract with the Village of Clinton. Bollas stated Clinton Village Council has voted unanimously to accept a three-year contract with the Summit County Sheriff's Office for four hours of service per day at an annual cost of $117,000.
