    For the second time in her high school career, Clinton High School sprinter Demi Washington has won the Gatorade Mississippi Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year Award. Washington won the Class 6A championship in the 100 meters this season with a time of 11.56 seconds, the 200 meters in 23.87 seconds, and was second in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 11 inches.
