Special Agent In Charge Audria Bridges said in a news release that police in Huntersville responded to a call from Novant Health Medical Center around 11:40 p.m. Sunday after a report of an active shooter.

    After six months of research, Nash County emergency workers are still scratching their heads as to why Nash County ambulances transport more people than most other North Carolina counties. "We're being utilized more than all the counties included in the study," said Dalton Barrett, a paramedic with Nash County Emergency Services who gathered and examined fiscal year 2015-16 data from 20 counties, one-fifth of the counties in North Carolina.
