    Elkin native Christoper O'Toole recently received a promotion to lieutenant colonel and battalion commander of the U.S. Army 2nd Battalion, 311th Regiment. O'Toole, who now lives in Clemmons, is a 1995 graduate of Elkin High School, and his wife, Jill, graduated from Elkin in 1994.
