    LAKE COUNTY>> On Aug. 4 at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers patrolling the evacuated area near First and Lake Street in Clearlake Oaks saw a silver vehicle traveling on Highway 20. Officers were familiar with the driver, Brett John Hill Jr., 31, of Clearlake Oaks, as they had stopped him the previous day and warned him about driving in the evacuated area. The officers contacted Hill on Hoover Street where he had stopped his vehicle.

    LAKE COUNTY >> With more than 10,000 people displaced as of Monday due to the Mendocino Complex fires, shelters and gas stations in Lake County have been struggling to keep enough food, water, fuel and supplies available for evacuees. Alberta Dodge, Junior Regent at the Clearlake Oaks Moose Lodge, which has been functioning as a fire shelter since Saturday, said Monday morning that the lodge had close to 300 evacuees.

    Christian Hiran Campos Esquivel, 31, of Ukiah, was found driving a black Toyota 4-Runner with expired license plate tabs on Spring Valley Road, one of the areas affected by the fire. According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Lakeport Police Officer Andrew Welter was assisting sheriff's deputies to patrol the Spring Valley area when he observed the vehicle at around 1:40 p.m. After the police officer conducted a traffic stop, Campos Esquivel said he was working in the Spring Valley community, but did not identify who he was working for or what he was doing.
