    A cache of stolen guns was recovered by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office from the crawl space beneath a house in the Clarksville area on Friday, Nov. 14. After receiving a tip that a large quantity of guns was hidden at a local residence near Clarksville, Capt. Andy Ezell, Investigator Mark Claiborne, Investigator Steve Jones and Deputy Fred Parsons obtained permission from the homeowner to search the residence.

    John Morrell Palmer III, 55, a former Kellogg sales manager, was sentenced Thursday for participating in a wire fraud conspiracy with Farmer, owner of Farmer's Foods. Mecklenburg County has seen a second reported case of rabies this season - a rabid skunk that was killed Oct. 24 by three neighborhood dogs on Carolina Avenue in Clarksville.

    A Clarksville man accused of stealing from a benefit fund created for the late Heather-Anne Tucker was sentenced to two years in prison by Judge Leslie Osborn in Mecklenburg County Circuit Court on Tuesday. The defendant, Ray Kyle, made an Alford plea of guilt to one count of grand larceny.
