    On Saturday, Feb. 18, Vermilion Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence, located on Kennel Road in Maurice, in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon investigation, deputies discovered 30-year-old Megan Bila of Maurice shot a man in the upper abdomen, according to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon.

    A Baton Rouge police officer is recovering in the hospital after being attacked during a traffic stop this morning, according to WBRZ The report states the officer was conducting a routine traffic stop around 7:50 a.m. in the 8400 block of Harry Drive when a driver became combative. A woman observed the attack and contacted authorities.
