    Anchorage police said a vehicle jumped this median on the Old Glenn Highway in Eagle River and came to rest in Chief Alex Park during a police chase on Saturday, Feb. 4. The driver, Ricky Powers, was arrested and charged with vehicle theft, driving under the influence, failure to stop at the direction of a police officer and eluding. On Feb. 4 at around 9:15 p.m., APD said a citizen called to report a vehicle driving erratically on the Glenn Highway.

"It's been a while since a CIC title game has been like that," said Chugiak head coach Rodney Wild of the game, which filled the stands with supporters who made the 15-minute drive in from Chugiak-Eagle River to witness the first conference final between the area's two high schools.

    Chugiak reached the semifinals of the Cook Inlet Conference hockey tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 31, with a 7-1 win over East in a first-round clash at the McDonald Center in Eagle River. The second-seeded Mustangs got a hat trick from John Hammer as well as goals by Andrew Beckett, Zach Plucinski, Zach Krajnik and Kyle Benson in the win, which also clinched a berth in the state tournament for Chugiak.
