    Michael S. Harley passed away unexpectedly on April 5th, 2018 at his home in Cathlamet , Washington. He was born in 1956 in Loma Linda California to Ted Harley and Margaret Simmons.

    Anglers will have an opportunity to fish for spring chinook salmon in the lower Columbia River this Saturday for one day only under an agreement reached Wednesday by fishery managers from Washington and Oregon. Fishing regulations will be the same as those in effect before the initial chinook fishery below Bonneville Dam closed April 7 for a fishery assessment.

    Wahkiakum County Port 1 commissioners approved the rates and budget for 2018 and discussed other matters around the Elochoman Slough Marina at their meeting last Thursday. The annual launch fee will go up from $55 to $60 next year, though Commissioner Brett Deaton suggested that they consider making it even more, while possibly offering a lower rate for seniors.
