    On a wild windy day at Mission Lakes Country Club, Temecula Great Oak junior Tim Davis continued his playoff prowess, sinking a par putt on the second playoff hole to qualify for the CIF State Regional Qualifier next Thursday at Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena. Davis, who nearly missed the playoff by bogeying the final three holes in regulation, lipped a birdie putt on the first playoff hole then said he played the second hole more aggressively and worked his way to a two-putt par to get one of four final spots at the state qualifier.

    A shutout in the semifinal round of the CIF playoffs is a rare sight, but that's where the Redlands High boys tennis team appeared to be headed after getting through the first two rounds of CIF-SS Division4 semifinals on Wednesday against visiting Chino Hills without losing a set. Since the outcome was already decided by that point, Redlands coach Sean Comadena took an opportunity to get some reserve players onto the courts for the third round, where the Huskies were able to break up the shutout and cut the Terriers' final margin of victory to 15-3.

    On Feb. 26, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said , Coffin was driving a red Saturn Ion south on Carbon Canyon Road near Canyon Hills Road when he crossed over the center double-yellow line and struck a gray Honda Civic driven by Tammy Mae Seagraves, 43, of Chino Hills. The sheriff's major accident investigation team submitted its report to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office on May 12. DA's investigators found probable cause to believe that Coffin was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, a news release said.
