    EASTVALE >> A new Costco, anticipated to serve the communities of Eastvale, Ontario, Chino and Jurupa Valley, is expected to open in Eastvale later this year with the region's first Costco car wash, according to city officials. The proposed 158,000-square-foot Costco, planned for the east side of Hamner Avenue just south of Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road, is expected to begin construction this year and will anchor a 45-acre retail complex, Eastvale City Manager Michele Nissen said.

    A 33-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday in Los Angeles to distributing a fatal dose of a powerful synthetic opioid to a friend, a charge that carries a 20-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence. Adam Scott Caward, of Chino Hills, entered his plea to felony counts of distribution of acetyl fentanyl resulting in death and possession with intent to distribute the drug, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Deputies found 573 plants at a home in the 17700 block of Gazania Drive and another 675 plants at an address in the 49000 block of Highview Street.
