    Cheshire Police have announced several road closures and detours that will take place on Sunday morning, April 24, as a result of the fifth annual Ion Bank Cheshire Half Marathon & 5K. The event will take place in Cheshire and Hamden and begins at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to continue until at least 12:30 p.m. Roads that will be affected are in the southern portion of Cheshire and include, but are not limited to, South Main St., Higgins Rd., Oak Ave., Cornwall Ave., Ward La., Mountain Rd., North & South Brooksvale Rd., Mt Sanford Rd., Avon Blvd., and most side streets off of these main through roads, along with Brooksvale Rd. and River Rd. in Hamden.
