    Police arrested a Chatham, N.Y., man last week whom they believe assaulted a woman and attempted to rape her outside a convenience store on Stockbridge Road. In a statement released Thursday, Great Barrington Police Chief William Walsh said that after "an aggressive investigation," Andrew Gombar, 34, was arrested in Chatham, N.Y., on Jan. 9, two days after police say he allegedly had attempted to sexually assault a female customer at the Lipton Mart.

I wish I could have been at the memorial service to represent myself, and my mother and stepfather Joan White and Robert Paine Grose, who hired him as music director for the Berkshire Playhouse in 1960, bringing him and Audrey to the Berkshires for us all to share My mother had known Bob and Audrey in New York City when the Blafield's and their two small daughters lived at the Ansonia just two blocks north on Broadway from my parents at the Dorilton at 71st and Broadway.
