    Police received a 911 call at 4:43 a.m. about a man armed with a gun holding three people hostage at his apartment at 11 Chatham Bars Avenue, according to a Chatham police statement. The man - later identified as 28-year-old Christian Joseph Sica - allegedly told two males to leave but forced a female to stay with him, according to the statement.

In a press release, Chatham Police Chief Mark Pawlina said they did not know why or how Garrett Gagne came to be lying on the roadway on Crowell Road near the intersection with Tipcart Road when the officer, in a marked cruiser, ran him over.

    Tom Cronin bounced his Toyota 4Runner down the pitched and potholed hill on Callanan's Pass and out onto the sandy off-road trails that led north along Nauset Beach toward the inlet, as he'd done throughout the summer and fall, Cronin claims he'd already decided he would break the law that day, a Sunday in early October. He drove past the fencing and the bright yellow signs declaring the last third of the narrow barrier beach a closed area and parked his Toyota 4Runner on the sand.
