    On Friday morning, troopers from the Charles Town detachment of the West Virginia State Police responded to an incident on the Blue Ridge Mountain. According to a press release from the Charles Town detachment of the West Virginia State Police, troopers arrived in the area of 321 Cedar Run Lane in Harpers Ferry, responding to an ATV complaint, at approximately 7:20 a.m. Once at the scene, troopers were told the victim had been involved in a verbal argument with Edgar Bachman Browne IV over Browne's riding of the ATV early in the morning.

    Though the city of Charles Town has annexed outlying residential subdivisions into the town proper, the recently added residents of the city may be seeing the side effects of the annexation on their utility bills. According to Jane Arnett, utility manager with the Charles Town Utility Board, more than 700 residents of Charles Town pay for sewer service through the Jefferson County Public Service District, causing a discrepancy in utility costs among residents in different areas of Charles Town.
