A deputy investigating a complaint of a residential burglary in the Patterson area developed Oubre as a suspect.

A deputy investigating a complaint of a stolen cell phone learned that Bolden found the phone on the ground at his place of employment in Centerville and then sold it to a coworker.

A deputy patrolling the Franklin area observed Martin travelling in a vehicle on Fifth Street.

    According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests: Rand Metrejean, Jr., 49, 122 West Side Park Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on May 5, 2015 at 8:26 am on a warrant for simple battery and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of careless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to report an accident, and failure to honor written promise to appear. The warrant for simple battery stems from an investigation into a complaint of a disturbance that occurred at a residence on West Side Park Lane in Amelia in June of 2014.

    Dugan Joseph Burleigh, 34, of Charenton, La., was sentenced by U.S. Magistrate Judge C. Michael Hill after pleading guilty to one count of assault in Indian Country, according to U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley's office. According to evidence presented at the guilty plea, Burleigh, who is a not a member of the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, assaulted a female member of the tribe on Jan. 11. He struck the victim from behind, knocking her to the ground and continued to punch and kick her, breaking her nose during the incident.

    Federal authorities in Lafayette say a Charenton man has been sentenced to a year in prison for assaulting a woman on the Chitimacha Indian reservation. U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley said Tuesday that 34-year-old Durgan Joseph Burleigh received the sentence after pleading guilty to one count of "assault in Indian Country."
