Deputies located Phillips at his residence on the warrant and transported him to the parish jail for booking.

Burgess allegedly attacked the victim outside of a local bar by hitting him several times, slamming him against the building, and causing him to hit his head on the ground.

    Portions of the Bayou Teche remain closed in St. Mary Parish while crews continue cleaning up more than 11,000 gallons of oil that spilled into the waterway Monday night. St. Mary Parish Emergency Preparedness Director Duval Arthur said there are more than 50 people using skimmers on 11 boats to clean up the oil.
