    CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Karen Sue Scarce, age 72, of Centerville, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Reid Hospital. Karen was born on December 3, 1942, in Richmond to Walter and Vera Staats Black. She lived in Centerville for most of her life and was a 1960 graduate of Centerville High School. Karen was a Buyer Assistant for Belden Corporation for over 38 years. She was a member of Centerville Christian Church. Karen was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Donald C. Scarce, to whom she was married on August 2, 1975; son, Robert A. Betschowa of Centerville; granddaughters, Brittney (Greg) Hornsby of Centerville, Indiana, Kerri (Josh) Hooker of Lynn, Indiana, and Christine (Bobby) Boone of Liberty, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Landyn and Aubrey Hornsby; sister, Mary (Bill) Horne of Loveland, Colorado; brother, Edward (Betty) Black of Wilmington, Ohio; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Duane Black. Visitation for Karen Sue Scarce will be from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, Wayne County Unit, 5635 West 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278 or National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 498 N.W. 18th Street, Richmond, IN 47374.
