    CENTER LINE/HAZEL PARK - Allegations in the city of Hazel Park have resulted in sexual assault charges for a Center Line public safety officer, who will reportedly remain on paid leave until his next court hearing later this month. George Andrew Tackett, 35, of Warren, was arraigned before Magistrate James Paterson in the 43rd District Court on Dec. 12. He now stands charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, stemming from an alleged incident in November at a 35-year-old Hazel Park woman's residence.

    CENTER LINE/HAZEL PARK - A Center Line public safety officer was placed on paid administrative leave Nov. 30 pending the outcome of an investigation into a sexual assault allegation in the city of Hazel Park earlier in the month. According to Hazel Park Police Chief Brian Buchholz, a woman went to the Hazel Park Police Department Nov. 19 to report that she had been sexually assaulted by a Center Line officer about a week before.

    The Center Line Public Safety Department is looking for information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused of breaking into Van Dyke Gas Co., on Sherwood Avenue, south of Rinke Avenue, early Aug. 26. The suspect, described only as a white man, was recorded by a surveillance camera at 12:45 a.m. pulling up to the business in a black Ford extended-cab pickup truck. Detectives reportedly observed footage of the man throwing a pipe through the glass door and entering the building.

    WARREN/CENTER LINE - An argument between partygoers and other guests at a Warren inn apparently escalated in Center Line early July 4, leaving two men injured with gunshot wounds. The men, an 18-year-old Warren resident and an 18-year-old Detroit resident, arrived at a local hospital shortly after a 4 a.m. 911 call that sent Center Line public safety officers to investigate a report of shots fired near the intersection of Van Dyke Avenue and Theisen Street, south of 10 Mile Road.
