    Three meetings will be one of the last chances for parents and others to weigh in on plans to tear down several Cedar Rapids schools and build several new ones in their place. The district will hold three public forums on the district's Master Facilities Plan, each from 6:00-8:00 p.m.: -November 6 at Jefferson H.S. -November 8 at Washington H.S. -November 9 at Kennedy H.S. A committee meeting since last year recommended a plan to cut the number of elementary schools in the district from 21 to 13. The plan would do that by closing eight buildings: Taylor, Truman, Van Buren, Madison, Nixon, Garfield, Grant Wood and Kenwood.
