    A slow-moving winter storm made travel treacherous for stretches of central and southern Utah Friday afternoon, with up to a foot of new snow falling in some mountain locations and more than half a foot in some high desert communities. In Iron County, semi-trailer rigs were barred from traveling along State Road 14 between Cedar City and Long Valley Junction at U.S. 89 beginning 11 a.m. Friday, a restriction to run at least through 6 a.m. Saturday, according to the Utah Department of Transportation .
