KESQ and CBS Local 2 is working to get more details about the circumstances surrounding the arrests, but our crew at the scene said they saw the driver of the vehicle and two passengers placed in handcuffs at about 11:40 a.m. The driver stopped at a light on Varner Road just after Bob Hope Drive.

    In response to the presence of mosquitoes in Cathedral City that could harbor deadly diseases, local vector control officials announced today that spraying will be conducted this week in an attempt to halt the mosquitoes' spread. Aedes agypti mosquitoes, which are capable of transmitting Zika virus, dengue, chikungunya, and yellow fever, were detected last week in neighborhoods between Ramon Road, Sky Blue Water Trail, 33rd Avenue and other streets running along the western edge of the city.
