The East Bay Regional Park District board of directors has voted to rename the golf course at Anthony Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley to Redwood Canyon Public Golf Course. "The community has been looking forward to this," said board member Dennis Waespi, whose district includes the picturesque 130-acre golf course near Lake Chabot. Comment?
Parking fees will jump to $3 a day Jan. 26 at the two BART stations serving Pleasanton - West Dublin/Pleasanton next to Stoneridge Shopping Center and East Dublin/Pleasanton at Hacienda. The increase comes after an assessment of parking lot usage showed that the two stations' lots are usually filled to capacity, which triggered the BART system's formula for increasing the daily Stations serving Pleasanton aren't alone. Fremont Bank Foundation, a philanthropic arm of Pleasanton's and the Bay Area's Fremont Bank, has chosen to support 18 local nonprofits that serve food or distribute food baskets year-round with financial grants to help them provide extra food and basic necessities to local low-income residents and families.
