    Nevada's unemployment rate is down, with the state reporting Tuesday that June's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.7 percent, down from 4.8 percent in May and from 5 percent in June 2017. A monthly report by the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation says year-over-year employment in Nevada increases by 37,600 jobs, or 2.8 percent, since June of last year.

    A Carson City man has pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge in the 2013 death of a 19-year-old woman after his previous convictions in the case were overturned. The Nevada Appeal reported Thursday that Leonardo Cardoza had been sentenced to life with possibility of parole for killing Desiree Bragg after ramming his car into Bragg and smashing her body into her mother's house in 2013.
