    In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Cody Andrew McClain, 24, Carrollton, was bound over to the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury on charges of domestic violence and aggravated menacing. The domestic violence charge was for jumping on top of Melody Reynolds, choking her, hitting her in the face and hitting her with his knee in the back and the ribs several times.

    Perry Township trustees will not help pay for a new police officer in Salem, saying Monday that most of their residents already pay the school district in property taxes and the city in income taxes through their work. The city and the Salem City Schools have been been negotiating a deal for a current city police officer to serve as a full-time school resource officer, working exclusively in the schools during the school year.

    The company that empties the recycling dumpsters behind the police department here found something unusual when they arrived on Monday: Plastic automobile parts filling up four of the 22 containers. When recycling coordinator Tony Guidone showed up on Tuesday he found another of the 40-yard dumpster filled with more of the same.
