    A former Carroll County Sheriff's deputy filed a civil lawsuit against King's Daughters' Hospital and two employees of the KDH medical office in Carrollton. Filed in July 2015, the complaint states that while he was employed with the sheriff's office, J.T. Shaw was being treated "for both physical and mental health issues" at the KDH main campus in Madison and at the KDH Trimble County medical office in Milton in 2014. 5 comments

    The board of directors of Carroll County Memorial Hospital will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Carroll County Courthouse to review an application for a nearly $5.5 million loan through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Community Development Facilities program, hospital CEO Michael Kozar said. If approved, the loan will fund a 22,000-square-foot addition to the hospital at 309 11th St. in Carrollton.

Kentucky State Police say Angela Hall, 34, was beaten with a baseball bat last month in Trimble County and later stabbed to death and her body dumped in a shallow grave in Shelby County, Ky.

    A Carrollton man indicted Nov. 9 in Carroll County Circuit Court on one count of unlawful possession of a weapon on school property, a Class D felony, is scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on Dec. 14. According to court records, Justin Woods, 30, was arrested at 7:24 p.m. Oct. 1 after Assistant Carrollton Police Chief Tim Mitchell observed him walking onto Carroll County High School property with a weapon. Mitchell stated that he approached Woods about the weapon, a 9mm handgun, and Woods stated that he didn't realize he had it with him. 19 comments
