John Robert Dye, 40, of Grady School Road in Canon is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated cruelty to animals in the death of his mother, 60-year-old Cynthia McCullough of the same address, according to Franklin County Chief Deputy/Investigator Jimmy LeCroy. Deputies and medical personnel went to the home for a welfare check on Thursday, Aug. 27, after neighbors and her employer, TI Automotive, didn't hear from her from Sunday through Thursday, LeCroy said deputies entered the home and found Dye unconscious in the hallway "due to what we believe were self-inflicted injuries."
