The event, which began with a parade and ended with a celebration in the Knowles Multi-Purpose Room, was sponsored by the SUNY Potsdam Gender and Sexuality Alliance Club and hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton and Buck's Bridge Community Church.

Police charge that, on an unspecified date in November, at the SUNY Potsdam Delta Kappa Theta fraternity house located at 53 Elm St. in the village, Mr. Rivera raped another person by forcible compulsion.

Sipher, a midfielder on the Canton boys lacrosse team, has started his final season with 15 goals and three assists through the first four games of the season, leading Canton to a 3-1 overall record and a 3-0 mark in Northern Athletic Conference games. Sipher's father, Justin, played football and track and field at Gouverneur High School and his mother, Amy Jo , is a member of the Jefferson Commmunity College, SUNY Potsdam and Gouverneur athletic halls of fame.

Joshua J. Carr, 33, of 12 B Clinton Street, Potsdam, was charged Sunday with second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a class A felony.
