Morris, 25, was cited with unlawful possession of marijuana in connection with the January accident that killed a Russell man who was walking on Route 11. Mr. Morris was driving the 2007 Hyundai Sonata that struck Richard A. Mackin, 56, from behind as Mr. Mackin was walking on the north shoulder of Route 11. Following the collision, Mr. Morris was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, with diabetic shock and later released, police said.

Morris, 25, was issued a ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana in relation to the January incident in which a Russell man was killed following a car-pedestrian collision on U.S. Highway 11. The preliminary investigation revealed victim, 56-year-old Richard A. Mackin was walking on the north shoulder of U.S. Highway 11 when he was struck from behind by a 2007 Hyundai Sonata, operated by 25-year-old Zachary S. Morris of Potsdam, who was traveling north.
