    A town resident died Saturday after a late-afternoon fire in which responders found the victim unconscious in his home. Robert Shear, 64, was found by a family member at his 6316 Route 10 home, and Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy Luke Paine and Canajoharie Police Department Patrolman Ed Hernandez tended to the victim around 4:52 p.m. until paramedics arrived.
