The ride, a fundraiser for the United Way of Kershaw County and the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, is May 7. Now in its 11th running, the Tour De Camden is becoming a popular event for cyclists here in the midlands, organizer Bob Giangorgi said.

The first referendum will ask voters to approve a $138.8 million bond to cover the construction of replacement several schools, renovations of other schools and safety upgrades to all three high school stadiums.

    Camden officers arrested a 37-year-old Mullins man with grand larceny on April 12 following a traffic stop by a Kershaw County deputy after reports of a utility trailer being stolen from Kershaw County Recreation Department headquarters on West DeKalb Street. According to a CPD report, video footage at the KCRD showed Derrick Demond Davis driving a dark blue minivan into a gated equipment storage area around 4:40 p.m. The vehicle backed into the far corner of the lot where Davis is seen getting out of the van, walking to the back of the building and backing up the van a little farther.
