    Thirty-eight-year-old Donny Hamby of Wills Point, Texas, died at the scene of the crash at Highway 69/75 and Platter Road, according to Calera Assistant Police Chief T.J. White, who said the accident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. According to White, Hamby was southbound on the highway when a sport utility vehicle driven by a Durant woman entered the highway from Platter Road and struck his cycle. 1 comment

    Thirty-year-old Stephanie Ann Denzer of Achille was scheduled for trial on charge of distribution of methamphetamine within 2,000 feet of a school and unlawful use of a communication facility. The trial was set to begin at 9:05 a.m. and according to a court document, Denzer appeared to be impaired, and her attorney, Jeff Clark, asked for a mistrial.
