    Despite waking up in the Texas Panhandle on Tuesday morning to blowing snow and blustery winds, the meteorologists say don't worry, warm weather should be headed this way. Forecasters with the National Weather Service said the snow wouldn't last on Tuesday, but flurries persisted until around 1 p.m. before finally slowing down and turning to rain around 4 p.m. Winds increased and temperatures fluctuated around the freezing point hour by hour, making for a mixture of slushy conditions that sometimes froze over again, leading to at least two dozen traffic accidents within Amarillo alone.

The District 3-5A meet will be held Friday at Randall High starting around 8:30 a.m. with the finals 4:30 p.m. Joining Randall Friday are scheduled to be Hereford, Lubbock High, Lubbock Coronado, Lubbock Monterey, Bushland, Iowa Park, Lubbock Estacado and Vernon.
