An animal lover, Barbara DeNooyer of Bushkill, felt she simply couldn't turn away when recently out shopping at the Mignosi's Foodtown in Marshalls Creek and becoming aware of a dog in this situation. "It was actually someone else who saw the dog suffering in a car and called 911," DeNooyer said.

    A Bushkill man has been arrested and accused of slashing some 110 tires in the private gated community of Saw Creek Estates. Phone calls to state police started coming in Sunday morning and by 1 p.m. at least 25 victims had reported tires slashed, state police said.

    A Pike County woman will stand trial after charges of assaulting a two-year-old boy were sent to Pike County Court of Common Pleas on Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Paul Mendittio, according to the Pike County District Attorney's Office. Erica Duchemin is charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person and intimidation, retaliation or obstruction in a child abuse case.
