Carthage High School instructor Todd Burker, Sustainability Corps adviser, recently presented information on the school's program to members of the River Area Council of Governments, suggesting the program could be replicated in the community.

    One firefighter was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries suffered during a structure fire that destroyed a garage and damaged a Route 11 home Friday afternoon. Malone Fire Chief Brian Gokey noted that firefighting crews were dispatched at 1:14 Friday afternoon to a garage fire on Route 11 near Muzzey Road, where more than 40 volunteers remained on scene for roughly three hours.
