One by one, from as far as Asheville, Bruce Swanson's customers are arriving in search of one last fix of sausage, hog ribs or country ham before Rathbone's Meat Processing closes it doors for good on July 3. They've come for more than meat, they're there to say goodbye, share a story about the old times and wish Bruce and his wife Judy good luck in their retirement.

    Four women have been charged with felony assault and another suspect is being sought in connection to an alleged stabbing on Sunday. According to the Haywood County Sheriff's Office, investigators are still searching for 36-year-old Jamie Marie Long Sutton, of Bryson City, for her alleged involvement with an assault that occurred shortly before 2 p.m on Sunday.
