    The National Weather Service Weather in Wilmington, N.C. issued a coastal flood advisory for Horry, Georgetown, Brunswick, N.C. counties for Thursday night. The advisory is set from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday because high water run-up is expected as the day's high tide rolls in, which could be as high as the dunes, according to a weather service alert.

    A dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C. for Horry, Georgetown, and parts of southeast North Carolina Thursday morning. The advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. as dense fog has blanketed Horry, Georgetown, Robeson, N.C., Bladen, N.C., Columbus, N.C., inland Pender, N.C., inland Brunswick, N.C., inland New Hanover, N.C., as well as Florence, Dillon, Marion, and Williamsburg, according to weather authorities.

    A dense fog advisory has been issued for inland Horry, Georgetown counties and surrounding areas from 5 to 10 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C. Other counties under the advisory include: Robeson, N.C., Bladen, N.C., inland Columbus, N.C. inland Pender, N.C., inland New Hanover, N.C., inland Brunswick, N.C., Marlboro, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion, and Williamsburg, according to the weather service.

    A large swath of the heaviest precipitation moved off the coast early Saturday morning; however, scattered precipitation is expected to spread across the area, according to the latest update from the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C. Scattered precipitation will likely move over the area Saturday morning and off the coast Saturday afternoon, Steve Pfaff, meteorologist with the weather service said in a morning update. A winter weather advisory remains in effect generally north of Williamsburg and Georgetown counties, he said.
