    David Gould, 38, a licensed firearms dealer from Savannah, pleaded guilty Friday in Brunswick before Chief U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood to multiple charges relating to his unlawful sales of machine guns. According to court documents and statements made in court, in January 2016, the ATF received information that Gould, a licensed federal firearms dealer, was seeking to sell fully automatic, untraceable machine guns for cash.

    The body of a missing man was discovered, Tuesday, near the mouth of the Satilla River by personnel from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. A Georgia DNR boat crew discovered the body of Raymond Hutchins, 59, as the joint search and rescue effort continues for his wife, Laura Hutchins, 61. The Hutchins' son reported the couple missing to watchstanders at Coast Guard Station Brunswick at approximately 9:20 a.m. on Monday, saying that the couple hadn't returned from a boating trip.

    State wildlife officials altered the recommendations of their own sea turtle expert in comments submitted about the proposed construction of a rock groin on the Sea Island Spit. The state gave the go-ahead to build the beach structure last December, but sea turtle expert Mark Dodd testified last week at the appeal hearing that his supervisors removed his recommendation to deny the permit and softened the language he used to describe the structure's effect on sea turtles.

Glynn County police responding to a call of a woman yelling on the porch of the Swans' residence, found Swan's wife injured, Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said in a release.
