    It was the disposition of the many people who turned out on the humid Saturday morning for the third annual Black Lake Fish & Game Club Mud and Obstacle Runs. At about 11 a.m., waves of 106 runners, with a majority of them being children, got their start down in the mud in an army crawl as part of the 1.4 mile family-friendly course which also extended into a longer 3.1 mile course for older more experienced runners.

    Members of Morristown and Brier Hill volunteer fire departments have been working together to slow flooding to homes and camps along the St. Lawrence River because of rising waters. In the course of two hours Sunday, about 1,000 sandbags were filled by 40 volunteers from both departments and several community members, and they were to be back at it again Monday night, Morristown Fire Chief Kevin J. Crosby said.

Leduc, 40, of 2700 Route 37, Brier Hill, with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, both misdemeanors. Troopers charge that about 5:30 p.m. on Route 37, Mr. LaDuc was stopped for operating a motor vehicle without a front license plate when he was discovered to have had a suspended license and was in possession of 2.5 suboxone pills and 1 suboxone sublingual film.
