    The free Pfander's Favorite Films series will screen the 1922 German expressionist horror film "Nosferatu" Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Friends Community Room of Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St. The film, directed by F.W. Murnau, tells the story of Count Orlock/Nosferatu the vampire, played by Max Schreck, who leaves his castle in the Carpathians and travels by ship to Bremen, bringing coffins filled with dirt and plague rats and with sinister plans for the young couple who are to be his first victims. The film is hosted by local film maven Erika Pfander and sponsored by the Friends of the Rockland Public Library.
