  1. Poseidon's Voodoo Math; and Klepto Kris Murray named to powerful Water Board.Read the original story w/Photo

Monday Dec 3 | Orange Juice

Elections come and go, but the bipartisan kleptocratic machine running this county, that gets up out of bed every morning with new ideas of how to pick your pocket and keep their spigots flowing, NEVER SLEEPS. Case in point: Let's check in on the Poseidon desal boondoggle, which we never quite manage to kill.

  2. Final 2018 General Election Results, AnnotatedRead the original story w/Photo

Saturday Dec 1 | Orange Juice

Well, maybe the counts in our neighboring counties aren't done , but there's only one close race crossing county lines left where we might expect more votes - Fullerton High School District 1 - and we're giving up on it. By Thursday, we were down to covering just 14 close races, plus the local vote for Governor and the Measure L races, so we'll start with the winners from those: : Sidhu beats Aitken by 478, 0.6%.

    Nov 6, 2018 | Orange Juice

Here's my list of voting choices from my eight - yes, eight! - lists of how to vote. I'm sending this message to myself before I go out knocking on doors for Gil - thank God I've remembered that I have to shave before I do that - up in my ancestral village of "Diamond Bar."

  4. Rackauckas Text Blast Touts Endorsements by His Co-ConspiratorsRead the original story w/Photo

    Oct 29, 2018 | Orange Juice

The Rackauckas for DIstrict Attorney campaign for some reason has me on their text messaging list. I received my first one today - and it was unintentionally sort of funny: Hi Gregory, ballots are out and our District Attorney Tony Rackauckas is endorsed by Sheriff Hutchens, the Association of OC Deputy Sheriffs and Deputy District Attorneys! Can Tony Rackauckas count on your vote? Reply STOP to opt out.

  5. Judge Boots Lenore's Petition to Worm Her Way onto November OCDA BallotRead the original story w/Photo

    Aug 13, 2018 | Orange Juice

I can't prove that Lenore killed Hans Keirstead's Congressional campaign just by touching it with a Facebook post that misspelled his name, but that remains my personal opinion. I haven't written about Lenore Albert-Sheridan's recent legal actions against Todd Spitzer and Brett Murdock before now because I'm current engaged in two litigation battles against her twice, once as Plaintiff/Appellant's/Cross-Appellee's attorney and once as one of a couple of dozen or so defendants in - and I am not kidding here - a RICO action , and I didn't think that readers would believe what she was really trying to get the court to do.

  7. TheRead the original story

    Jun 6, 2018 | Orange Juice

I wrote that headline within seeing what we have. One thing is sure: they will tend to skew conservative, with older voters way over-represented, because these are mainly the early vote-by-mail ballots.

  8. OJB's 2018 Primary Picks, Pt 6: Deciding on the CA-39 RaceRead the original story

    May 10, 2018 | Orange Juice

In most of these races, the California Democratic Party has already picked, so I can't do much more than grumble. While you should have your ballots in hand today, YOU SHOULD NOT BE VOTING YET because you should want to wait for at least one more big poll to come in to help you decide about the Governor's race and probably U.S. Senate as well.

  9. Primary Election 2018: Last Day of Filing in the Last Races LeftRead the original story

    Mar 14, 2018 | Orange Juice

The sole big news on this last day of filing is the entry into the 49th District Congressional race of San Diego County Supervisor Kristine Gaspar, pictured at um we'll get back to you on that where she will face Doug Applegate, Rocky Chavez, Diane Harkey, and a mash-up of Ross and Chandler. As we noted yesterday, Jay Chen dropped out of the race, convinced that it is the only way that one of the other Democrats will have a chance of making the runoff.

  10. Pro-Levin Lefty Group Polls CA-49 - OMITTING Applegate from Poll (or Report)Read the original story

    Feb 24, 2018 | Orange Juice

Elizabeth Warren inspired a progressive organization that is almost always wonderful. I was contacted yesterday by someone whom I've known only by reputation and long-admired: Adam Green , co-founder of PCCC.

  11. CA-39 Open Forum: Pro-Bernie NPP Castaneda Endorses Jay Chen & LeavesRead the original story

    Jan 24, 2018 | Orange Juice

DIAMOND BAR, 7:37 p.m. - The League of Women Voters is currently holding an "all-comers" candidate forum that attracted five of the leading Democrats - all except Dr. Tran; two left-leaning independents, John Cox and Jose Castaneda; one Republican, Andrew Sarega, and one right-wing populist nominal Democrat named Rusk, who has spent most of his answers railing against "illegals." None of the three leading Republican candidates - Diamond Bar native Bob Huff a only a time-out for a heavyset apparently disabled vet who wouldn't stop hooting and applauding him.

  12. With Ed Royce Out of CA-39, 'King of the North' Jay Chen Steps InRead the original story w/Photo

    Jan 9, 2018 | Orange Juice

Chen again? With Royce gone, the school trustee and 2012 candidate who made Royce spend $3 million - much of which had been supposed to go to campaigns in other seats, which then went Democratic - may have the easiest Democratic path to the runoff in CA-39. Here, Chen speaks to the Vets & Military Families Council at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
