    Crandal had suggested to Benson that the board forego a season of grants so the road crew could catch up on culvert replacement, to which the board agreed. The board also agreed with board member Bruce Downer that a paper trail be established as much as possible and as soon as possible regarding town efforts to clear Longley Loop of the clutter which has caused problems for town road crews as they try to plow and otherwise keep the road clear for traffic.

    The hearing was held prior to Monday night's Select Board meeting. Planning Commission chair Sharon Crossman said Monday's hearing was a state requirement for a town plan amendment, and Energy Committee member Bob Borella said the Windham Regional Commission held its hearing a month and half ago to review the language of the Town Plan and the energy component to make sure both met state guidelines.

    Starting at the end of June, volunteers Susan Brace, Jill Bruning, Heather Chase, Hannah Fleming, Ian Kehoe, Diane Holme, John Holme, Frank Kelley, Miriam MacDonald, Cathy Milhaly and Wendy Schultz waded out into the river to fill between six and 12 containers with water. The samples were then transported to the SeVWA folks, who took the samples to the lab for processing.
